Edited to take chaff that wasn't part of the story.

Sounds about right. Listen to his stance on the war. He disagreed with it, but it happened. He wants a stable Iraq, as does everyone else. He's been saying on the trail that its past time for the Iraqis to take over, we can no longer help them militarily, any more than we have. How is this inconsisten?

It's kind of like saying "the Dems oppose the war, but they keep funding it don't they?" Of course they do.

At the time he was running for the Senate I was actually in Iraq and the general climate there was completely different, there was no such thing as an Iraqi government or security forces and without us there would've been total anarchy.

Considering the he proposed a plan to have us out of Iraq by March '08 (hey that's like, now!) that seems inconsistant with "the surge didn't work" and "he wants a stable Iraq".

The surge quote was not meant to imply YOU said it.
