New Metra Stop at 35th Street Arrives in 2009

Featured Replies

In today's SouthtownStar (formerly the Daily Southtown) it is being reported that this is a done deal. ITT haas donated half of the necessary land and has agreed to maintain landscaping. Metra will soon be looking for contractors to build the station.

You can find the article in today's paper or at http://www.Southtownstar.com/news/880933,0...etraSox.article

For you local fans, the article says that "eventually" Metra wants to reroute the Southwest Service Line onto the Rock Island line, which would make the new station available to Manhattan, New Lenox, Orland Park, Palos Park, Palos Heights, Worth, Chicago Ridge and Oak Lawn.

Sweet, the easier it is to get to the park for people, the better!

UNfortunately No Weekend Service for the Manhattan to Chicago train..

But Freaking awesome none the less. (seeing as I take this route daily)

Worth, Chicago Ridge, Oak Lawn ... my old stomping grounds. Oh for the good old days. :)
