May 26, 200817 yr My grandfather, Alphonso Schweirjohn, Army, WWII. He passed away in 1989. My other grandfather, Phillip Chimino, Coast Guard, WWII. He passed away in 1995. My uncle, Dan Schweirjohn, Navy, Vietnam War.
May 27, 200817 yr I wasn't near a computer yesterday and missed this thread. Thanks to all who have served and sacrificed for this nation. My grandfather was turned away twice for being too old when he tried to enlist during WWII. Finally they took him on his third try because they knew he'd just keep coming back until they did. He died in 1978 before I was old enough to really grasp the greatness of his generation.
