Is this the turn-around for the hitting?

The last 12 games have been very exciting to watch, even though the teams have been sub-par. It seems that finally that the hitting has come around to where it should be. The O-Dawg, Orlando Cabrera, has really picked it up as of late. He is doing what Kenny thought he would do when he made the trade with Garland. His defense has been solid all year so far and now the hitting is starting to pick up. Jim Thome was is a bit of a funk the first 2-months of the year, but he has been getting some timely hitting. He has had some solid hits that just haven't found holes or empty grass, and most of them have been with two outs in the inning. So the sacrifices just aren't there for him, but he seems to be fighting out of the slump he has been in. Swisher is a different story all together. I think he is pressing too much to be a huge hitter and become the face of the team since he was the most noted new player. If he takes off some of the pressure he is putting on himself and just plays baseball like he did in Oakland, he will be just fine. Konerko is off to another terrible start, something he has done a lot in his career. I think it is something we as fans are going to have to live with and work around. Maybe it is a rush to think that we are about to see more .300 averages, but I like how things have progressed. Regardless of the fact we played Seattle, a decent Angels team, SF, and Cleveland. Things are looking up for the White Sox. The pitching is there and all we need is for the hitting to pick up and this team will be in the playoffs no problem.

Something to think about:

Boston Red Sox World Series Champs 2004 and 2007

Chicago White Sox World Series Champs 2005 and 2008????

SI preseason rank

White Sox in 2005- 3rd Place

White Sox in 2008- 3rd Place

Ironic???

Lets Go Sox

That 12th inning was bizarro world. With the exception of Paulie's flyout to the wall, every ball we hit that inning was up the middle or the other way. Certainly, the OC warming up like he is helps with him leading off, but we need one of the three between Thome, PK, and Swish to get going for our offense to really turn around IMO.
