Big Ten Network

I'm not exactly sure where this goes, so please move it if it doesn't belong here.

Does anyone know the deal between Comcast and BTN? I want to get this, but I haven't been able to find anything that states that Comcast has finally added it to their programming. I know they were close to agreement, but thats as far as I know. I need me some OSU football for the fall.

They did come to an agreement. Last I heard was that the channel will 'show up' on the lineup on august 15th, IIRC. I don't know any details about HD, or what channel it will be on, but I though they said it was on the extended basic cable. It won't be on a sports tier.

Not that great of a channel if you ask me. Apparently, they're supposed to be getting the good games from the Big Ten though.

Missing your team's football and basketball games makes it a good enough channel for me.

I guess Northwestern vs Penn State is a big time basketball game for some people after all.

Agreed. I didn't see a single Minnesota road game last year in either sport except for the Michigan basketball game, which I only saw because I sat on a bus 10+ hours to get to.

Way to not make any sense.

How didn't I?

Northwestern, Minnesota, Penn State, Michigan are teams that are on that channel from what I saw this past year. Pretty boring. Only decent thing was Kendall Gill.

Iowa State @ Iowa is on it, giving the BTN a bit of leverage here....so unfortunately, Mediacom's probably going to add a channel I'll watch once.

Well to be fair, they're supposed to have some interesting games this year. Last year though, seriously it was probably the boringest sports channel I ever watched in terms of actual games.

Then you didn't pay too close attention.

Illinois/Penn St football was on there, Illinois/Indiana football was on there, as well as a ton of Illini basketball games, off the top of my head. Wasn't OSU/Wisky on there as well for football?

My point is, fans are missing their teams games. How would you feel if you couldn't see a ton of Sox games, regardless of how good they were, or who they were playing?

Yeah, Minnesota sucks. Especially their basketball program. It's not like they have one of the better coaches in the NCAA or a top recruiting class coming in or anything. f*** them.

I'm very happy that Tubby is coaching at Minnesota. Just saying.

I've been pretty happy with the BTN. It gives you more in-depth coverage of the Big Ten than anywhere else (duh), and I think the production values have gotten about 10 times better from when they first started. Though I thought it has always been acceptable (just as good or better than the old ESPN+). Heck, I prefer the BTN broadcast better than most ESPN2 broadcasts, especially for football.

That makes two of us :)

Ive had the channel for almost a year now and its amazing. I saw every Wisconsin football and basketball game, if you didnt have BTN you missed out on a lot of quality.

But then again not everyone went to school out of state, I assume many more Illinois games are on tv in Illinois...
