Many of you will wonder how reliable economists are. In my view, if an economist uses a complicated model to predict just about anything, you can ignore it.

 

Heh. That's pretty close to my view. This is why I start tuning out when people try to explain complex economic theories to me. There seems to be a counter/corrolary to everything.

The irony is that you can change economist to envoirnmentalist in that article, and it would be pretty much the samething. Its a fluff piece with no real meat to it. People tend to believe the people they agree with. Nothing new there, no matter how witty it is written.

He kind of said that in the article.

 

Science is different, though. It's a lot more black and white, and there's generally more observable evidence and data. If you want to disprove something, you can try, but it has to be thorough.
