that is completely messed up, but it doesn't surprise me at all.

You have a group of college students that believe a certain thing and make a decision that has most older people thinking wtf? Kids do some interesting things at times. Adults scratch their heads. Then when the kids get older they realize there may have been other ways to accomplish the same thing.

 

I actually see a point they may have. If you have men and women, people of all races, combined raising money, perhaps having something that they all can identify with may be the best charity for that group. I think a better lesson is doing something that you will not ever benefit from, is a special kind of charity.

 

People plant trees so the next generation has shade. These kids, I believe missed at lesson and only want to plant a tree that they may sit under.
