Anyone else watch the premiere? I'll give it a B. Nothing crazy good, but nothing terrible either. An interesting premise.

Also, Ian McShane is such a badass. I love that guy.

I watched it off of the nbc.com website. Not bad at all. The actors will be good, the content is interesting. I don't know how well it will be received with the religious overtones it has.

i thought they did a pretty good job considering its based on a major story in the Bible. They didn't hit you over the head with it, but at the same time they made it important.

I thought the avclub.com review guy said it best - "...it's nice to see a show that treats the existence of God as neither a joke or a moral bludgeon..."

It was a mixed bag for me. I really liked Ian McShane and his character but pretty much no one else. (The Reverend needed way more screen time)... Also it felt like they were rushing through a lot of pretty important plot points very quickly instead of taking the time to set up all the players and their agendas. I think the story line with the son and Mr. Halliburton could be more interesting if they took the time to portray them more positively instead of just throwing them into "THE OBVIOUSLY EVIL" category. Besides the plot there were some really goofy scenes (the hostage rescue, the crown of butterflies at the end, the red bra we were supposed to recognize as belonging to somebody)... Wish this series were on HBO or Showtime instead, don't have much hope for it surviving a season as is.

Edit: Ratings were putrid. http://www.thrfeed.com/2009/03/kings-nbc-p...re-ratings.html

I watched it, wasnt that bad.

The bra was supposed to be the "assistants". They framed her so that people wont catch on that the Kings only heir likes boys.

i actually really liked it - aside from that final butterfly scene... bit too heavy handed for me. one butterfly would've been great.

but sci-fi/fantasy/political drama? yeah i'm in. lol
