What it would take for me to switch parties . . .

Featured Replies

I though a thread about switching parties would be interesting. Even better if we could keep it reasonable and without bashing.

For me to vote more Republican, the party would need to

  1. Return to pre Reagan fiscal conservatism, balanced budgets for example.
  2. Stop the activist judges rhetoric
  3. Stop blaming the media and trying to be a victim
  4. Support a guest worker program that help American business and treats the workers fairly without offering budget breaking benefits.

For me to vote Republican

1) no more of this bank bailout crap

2) cut spending, even defense

3) ditch evangelicals

4) stop corporate welfare

5) be more protectionist.

6) bribes. they take too many and are for sale

For me to vote Democrat

1) transparency. the democrats do way too much in secret deals

2) bribes. they take too many and they are for sale.

3) solutions that don't always involve complaining, whining, raising taxes, and blaming everyone else.

4) no more race baiting. i'm not going to go along with their policy of divide everyone by race and fight

5) stop committing voter fraud.

Psh, both parties race bait, just for different reasons.

edit: it'd be more accurate if I said "elements of both parties" cuz it'd be unfair if I said it was part of either's official platform, although it was pretty much an open secret that the Republicans did it a few decades ago.
