I know this probably wont make ya feel better but..........among all my OTHER woes, my car got totally f***ED UP from the hurricane too. Dozens of scratches and dings all over the place..............

probably random, though maybe preplanned since it happened fast - I had just been outside turning off the sprinklers -

 

my windows are always down - this is small town America - and my car was on the end of the row, and the other car torched was in the front of the lot, so easy access - the car that was next to the other burned car is scorched pretty bad on the outside - only my neighbor's action saved my jeep from being scorched the same way although I will need to look at it in the morning light

 

we live on a corner, sidestreet, with lots of traffic to and from the Meijers so we are sitting ducks for pranks I guess

Unfortunately for cwsox, he probably parked his car (or vice versa) next to a person with a possessive ex or someone who owes a debt etc. His car was just too close to the flames and probably caught fire as a result.

 

I hope they catch the jagoff. I've had my car f***ed with and you'll never know what it feels like to wanna kill someone until you notice the damage on your car. luckily I had nothing of value in the car and I don't think i did in the glove compartment other than some parking things they give you when you pay to aprk at USCF -

 

it is good they didn't get the jeep or the Z - the Subaru was the one that was most dispensible but damn it this blows my mind that someone would do this

That sucks Vince. At least no one was hurt. I'm assuming you have insurance so I think now you just got to say I'm safe, no one was hurt and thats why you have insurance.

First thing in the morning this is what I see. What a drag. In December of 2000 someone stole my sons car from right in front of our place. He was home from college for the Christmas break. Merry Christmas. Auto theft rates in Pittsburgh are relatively high and not a big priority for the Pittsburgh Police. I used to work for them as a civilian but had lost my connection in that division. Another friend who works for the Allegheny County Police picked up the ball and he actually found the car and several others torched in the woods. They caught the guys who did it, two teen age accomplices, who were on a neighborhood rampage. When I went to court to testify, one of the punks and his lawyer actually tried to intimidate me and others testifying. I love the American system of justice. Unfortunately for the thiefs, they actually got stiff sentences in a maximum security juvenile facility. We were supposed to be notified when they were released, but never were. CW crimes like these have a less than 20% clearance rate. Maybe since you live in small town Michigan your local police have better luck in these matters. It's quite natural to be madder than a swarm of hornets. We got a decent insurance settlement and because of my police connection, an aggressive investigation. I hope you get the same results CW and I'm real sorry this happened to you. I'd like to know how this turns out.

Automobile arson is one of the most common forms of insurance fraud. Any chance the owner of the other car could have had something to do with it?

Wow sorry to hear this cw. I mean torching a man's car that's just one step removed from torching his house. I don't know what I'd do if someone f***ed with my auto. It's just something so spineless and stupid that someone would do something like this.
