Possesses a low-mid 90's fastball with solid movement in to right handed hitters and has been able to keep the velocity late in games this year. Has a good hard tight slider and also a good curve. Also has an average change. Has a solid pitchers body and good poise on the mound. Negatives: Command is inconsistent and does not have great stamina. Will he be able to remain in the rotation or will he have to move to the pen? Boxberger's K/IP and H/IP ratios are excellent, but his walk rate is rather high. The stuff is here: 90-95 MPH fastball, good slider, curveball, changeup with some potential. Because of the command issue, he could last to the second round. There has been talk of making him a reliever, but given his overall performance this spring he could remain in the rotation as a pro. He would be another option late in the first round or in the supplemental area. Wouldn't take him with 23 and probably wouldn't take him with 38, but at 61 or 71, he's a very intriguing option. While he does have question marks on being able to stay in the rotation and if he can control his pitches, he has 4 solid pitches that can be effective. May 27, 200916 yr I like him. He's got a good build, solid stuff with some upside, and should at least turn into a good relief prospect with a shot at being a good starting prospect. Depending on whats out there, I consider him from the supplemental slot on.
