Kenny Hates Prospects
I wouldn't let that Wilkes Booth team anywhere near the Lincoln Saltdogs of the Independent League.
BearSox
QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 12:11 PM) I wouldn't let that Wilkes Booth team anywhere near the Lincoln Saltdogs of the Independent League. Or at least not have them go to a movie together.
Kenny Hates Prospects
QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 12:13 PM) Or at least not have them go to a movie together. What's funny is that the Wilkes Booth team is a Yankees affiliate with a stars-and-stripes studded tophat as a logo. Talk about mockery... scenario
Charlotte lost 5-0. The only positive note from this game is that Kroeger went 2-3, both doubles. Barons lost 3-0 in 10 innings. Ely pitched 6 innings of shutout ball but didn't get a decision obviously. Winston-Salem won 4-3 in 11 innings. Greg Paiml with a walk-off single, driving in Salvadore Sanchez who led off with a double. Kanny won game one 5-4 with a 3-run rally in the bottom of the final inning. Jon Gilmore with a sac-fly for the game winner. Kanny won game two 3-2 in another walkoff! Justin Greene drives in the winning run with a squeeze bunt. Both Kanny wins involved walk-offs?? Great day to be at the ballpark.
ThunderBolt
If this organization could try to turn Sergio Santos into a pitcher, they can sure as hell try to make JVB back into a hitter. I'm just saying...

I'm just saying... His injuries have ruined his shoulders, I'm not sure he can really swing a bat that well anymore.

Good point, actually. I hadn't thought of it that way and i think you might be right.
NorthSideSox72
This Justin Greene guy is starting to become interesting. He's old for his level at 23, but he was also only drafted last year. Hitting very well, seems to have a decent batter's eye, supposed to have lots of speed... if his defense in CF is decent, I think he might be worthy of keeping an eye on. given his age, hopefully he sees W-S this year and continues to do well. Balta1701
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 8, 2009 -> 05:09 AM) Good point, actually. I hadn't thought of it that way and i think you might be right. He's probably right...that also doesn't mean it's not worth a shot. Even he probably knows that if he can't succeed at Charlotte he's never going to sniff the big leagues and any sort of paycheck, he's got to do something if he wants to salvage his career.
