My on-line history

dialing in to boards ExecPC (Milwaukee), The Well (San Fran), etc. huge long distance bills even on a blazing fast 1200 baud modem > GEnie > Prodigy > CompuServe > AOL > Earthlink > ATT > Road Runner

In some ways I really miss the pioneering feeling of dialing into modems.

I remember flying at 300 baud modem rates. Well. God love that Commodore 64...

Yep, remember those well too.

Of course, I remember those damn mainframes and punch cards at my dad's work.

But what happened if the dinosaurs ate the punch cards or stepped on the main frame?

they would just have to start over. i suppose it was just one of the many dangers of computing back then.
