How lame is the Metrodome?

Featured Replies

Call me crazy but I believe we will win a series up there in the second half of the season,we could've won all 3 this past series if MB and JD would've pitched like they regularly do...we'll get em,you'll see.

That surface has injured so many f***ing people needlessly, in both baseball and football games.

I almost want to attend the implosion and cheer.

I will attend

HOw many true domes are left? Not the retractable kind, which, at least they have real grass. Is it just Tampa? Can't remember if Toronto's is retractable.

Metrodome is the last MLB dome with: permanent roof, artificial turf, and infield dirt only around the bases

Tampa Bay has: permanent roof, artificial turf, but a full dirt infield

Toronto has: retractable roof, artificial dirt, and infield dirt only around the bases

Every other MLB stadium has real grass.

So the Metrodome is definitely the worst. Even the Twinkie fans I know say so, which is why they are counting down the days to outdoor baseball. Although once the Twins move outdoors and have to hit the ball hard to get on base, they are going to become the KC Royals North.

JIM THOME?

I just spat out my gatorade... Greatest comics (I don't even know if you can call them that) of all time :)

It is retractable.

My favorite Darren Jackson moment ever was at the Rogers Centre a few years ago. Someone could probably do a recap better but the short of it is they had the dome open that game (a day game) and it started to pour. DJ makes a comment like "they should get a tarp on the field, oh wait, it's a dome." One of my top five all time favorite funny sports moments.

I disagree. Morneau, Kubel, Cuddyer, Mauer, Young and Crede can all hit home runs. I would never call them a home run team like the Sox but with that talent they'll be fine. Just my humble opinion.
