5:55pm: Jon Heyman at SI tweets that the Mets rejected a package of Fernando Martinez, Bobby Parnell, Jon Niese and Ruben Tejada for Halladay.

 

With Reyes, Beltran, Delgado, & Putz all on the DL, I dont think Halladay helps them get in the playoffs this year anyway

They don't really have much financial room either. Especially if they planned on signing Halladay to an extension. And I don't think he makes up 10 games in the division by himself.

The Mets are so flawed, right now, that not even Halladay could get them within 3 games of the Phillies.

So what package could we offer up that would compare to this deal? Cmon you future Sox people. :notworthy
