August 3, 200916 yr Clayton was mediocre and streaky, but pitching in the NL with a majority of your starts in Petco, he could do well.... He's also young. He's going to get better. I wish there was a way we could have kept him. I mean was he going to be the deal breaker?
August 3, 200916 yr It was obvious after this deal that the Padres would be happy with their return. Even though we couldn't trust Clayton to go 7 on a day to day basis and Poreda was going to be a reliever in the AL Central, they should both be above average pitchers in the NL and Petco Park. I have a feeling both teams will be happy with this one when all is said and done.
