OOTP Baseball Sim League GM Needed

Featured Replies

Hey everyone, we've got an OOTP Baseball Sim league going and we due to some inactivity, we need 1 more GM to take over the Kansas City Royals. We're currently moving into 2014 but most of the players active now in real life are still in the league, so there isn't a big adjustment period. The Royals finished 2nd in the AL Central last season behind the White Sox and we need someone to take them over going forward. Preferably we'd get someone with OOTP experience that owns the 6.0 or 6.5 version of the game, as that's what we use.

OOTPX >>> OOTP 6.5

Ya we know, not everyone wants to or can upgrade when you have 30 GMs.

Ive actually heard otherwise.

If anyone is interested in playing I would gladly try and help you out. If you wonder what its like to be a GM and run a baseball team, it is a fun experience.

You heard that 6.5 is better than X? I find that very hard to believe.

I say this as someone who has been playing religiously since OOTP6... X is the best in years. Still has flaws (and annoyances that are simply never going to get fixed because Marcus doesn't listen to the complaints of non-historical simmers), but it's a much better game than 6.5.

Interesting, I think we have had this chat before but I have some experience with it, Do not own the game anymore though seeing the pages and everything again sparks me

Yeah ive heard 6.5 is better, but ive never played X so I really couldnt tell you. Ive been using 6/6.5 since it came out and the only leagues ive been invited to or seen also use 6.5.

I could be entirely wrong.

And if anyone is interested its a good time to get into the AL, bad team to be NL.

:D

When it comes to an ONLINE sim league? Yes.

We did.

He retired when he was 18.

Right around the time he came out of the closet, oddly enough.

I'm in five different online leagues right now (ranging from a current league, 1940's league, 1870's league and pair of fictional leagues), all of which use OOTPX or OOTP9 (and are planning on converting soon), and I have had no issues. The game itself is far better than 6.5, and there have been no problems using OOTPX/9 instead of 6.5. I'm not exactly sure what problems you're hinting at, but I assure you that OOTPX is plenty friendly with online leagues.
