elrockinMT Posted September 9, 2009 Share Posted September 9, 2009 Thanks for the evaluation. I think I saw him in his debut or maybe it was just Gameday, but you hope for consistency. Maybe a twenty hit Oakland game is not the best time to evaluate Hudson, but he did give upo a quarter of the A's hits in two innings. Kenny Hates Prospects Posted September 9, 2009 Share Posted September 9, 2009 The veteran Linebrink could learn a thing or two by watching the rookie Hudson pitch. I understand that Linebrink needs to throw his fastball up in the zone on occasion in order to set up his splitter, but would be well served to work lower more often like Hudson does. My first two impressions on Hudson are that his fastball is above average, his change has plus potential, and his slider lacks consistency. Maybe he just needs to get warmed up because apparently as a starter the slider would come to him later. But just off of location, and movement and velocity on his fastball, he looks like he could indeed fill out that setup role in the very near future. I've been pretty impressed by him so far.
