Hell, if need be, I wouldn't have been surprised if the Yanks just released Mondesi and ate his contract. Compared to your normal team, they don't care. But, they care about .01% about it. They have to maintain some sort of fiscal responsibility.

July 30, 200322 yr According to Cashman, they got rid of Mondesi for the sole fact that he left the ballpark in the 6th inning at the Sunday Red Sox game after he was pinch-hit for. They say hes done this several times in his career and doesnt have the team attitude. When asked whether Mondesi would still be in a Yanks uniform if this incident has not happened, Cashman said "yes".
July 30, 200322 yr I really think that Vlad does not want to go to NY. Everything I have ever heard about him saids he hates the limelight, and doesn't care too much about the money. But we will see I guess.
