It's basically a social psych class in the first half (aggression, stereotype, stigma, groups, etc) and then in the second half we watch movies and tv and talk about how those relate to the class. We're also going to a nursing home and interviewing the residents--so they're learning about how a stigmatized group (the elderly) experiences that stigma. I don't usually teach first years so it has been a learning experience for everyone involved.
