Farewell Nancy Faust

For those of old enough to remember when she was the only sound at old Comiskey, I say farewell not only to her but the era she excelled in.

Man, I'm 60 and Nancy was there almost as long as I've been going to games. Heck, I was 20 when she began playing at Comiskey. I remember writing (complaining) to Rob Gallas back when the canned music began to "take over". He sent me a reply which pretty much just said, "hey, times change". Sad, but true. Nancy was a part of the White Sox for 40 years....amazing!

every major league ballpark sings "take me out to the ballgame" in the 7th inning stretch, and every team yells their name instead of "home team." What few realize is that the tradition began with the White Sox and Nancy.

I didn't know that either. Good post.

I'd like to think if the Sox made another WS, that Nancy would be there to play.
