December 6, 200223 yr be interesting to see what williams does now....he will have all the power...he could very well defer all but 300k of thomas' salary..remember what he did to buehrle last year for refusing his offer???...this could get quite interesting..and ugly:eek
December 6, 200223 yr I think Thomas already has been told if he comes back he'll get 3-5 million. I think they will talk to him, point out how they got Koch and how they want to get one more pitcher and if your willing to take a bit less, then we can afford to sign a pitcher and hold onto you and Carlos Lee for another year, this way the offense is intack.
December 7, 200223 yr I'm going on the record as saying.. "I think Thomas is gonna have a career year!!!!!" the paper reported that part of the "clause" also has stipulations if Thomas makes the all-star game/silver slugger stats in '03 the contract gets reinstated for '04.... it's gonna be exciting to see frank play next year now that he will have the proper "motivation" $$$$$$$$$
December 7, 200223 yr Author Yeah, i think Thomas is gonna have a huge season. When you take 5 mil away from someone, its gonna give them something to be motivated about. He has to make KW look like a little b**** after what he's done to him.
December 7, 200223 yr On my way home the Score reported that Frank signed a new contract that replaces his old one. No dollar amounts but they said he is signed for this year with mutual options through 2006.

December 7, 200223 yr Ya, mutual options exist. I don't know the exact meaning of them, but they are their. Interesting on Frank signing a new deal. I think that would be a sweet move, especially if it voids the other one.

December 7, 200223 yr im kinda curious on the $$$ amount, but either way im glad to have him back. It sounds like he busted his ass to get into shape this off season. I am predicting an allstar year out of him

December 7, 200223 yr Mike, we are agreeing on that. Thomas is going to step it up and have a huge year.

Nope....if he gets in the top 10 in MVP in any year he is with the White Sox in his current contract, he gets a bonus of $2 million.
December 7, 200223 yr Ya, and then he can opt out of the contract next year if he wants. This seems like a great deal for both parties.
