Miami and Ft Lauderdale

Featured Replies

going down there for a few days in March. Any suggestions on fun places to go? Would need to be family friendly since my 6 month old girl will be with my wife and I.

Thanks for suggestions in advance.

Ohh my. You picked a bad month for family friendly in Miami. Spring break 2011 haha

It's never too early to indoctrinate your daughter into the culture of Tiki.

Mai Kai in Ft. Lauderdale is the only surviving authentic Tiki Palace in America. The Polynesian review is fun, the food is good, the outdoor gardens are very nice, and the drinks are excellent.

Depending on the school. I know for my brother and a couple of friends, that's when their Spring Break vacation is. It's not the greatest month for family friendly, especially with the electronic festival going on too, but that's earlier in the month. I'd say stick moreso to Fort Lauderdale. Just going to their restaraunts on the beach is relaxing, it's alot more calm than Miami, and you're literally right up against the Ocean. For Miami, at least in South Beach, the restaraunts and such as removed from the OceanFront. The beach is spectacular though. I wouldn't take my 6 year old there with all the noodiez there.

Ah, how I wish I could go back now. They do have a Children's museum if I remember correctly.

In southbeach there is a great place to take the family to eat it is called the Big Pink. A huge portion type diner with great food and atmosphere. Sort of a welcomed diffrence from all the weird trendy stuff out there.

Also in Miami go by the stadium where the do the celebrity boat tours. Its sort of like our Navy Pier in Chicago. Thats a great place to take the family. Eat at Bongo's if you go in that area you wont be sorry .
