June 2, 201114 yr Bad start. Associated Press Ivey skipping WSOP in protest of Full Tilt By OSKAR GARCIA , 06.01.11, 11:59 AM EDT LAS VEGAS -- Poker's biggest superstar, Phil Ivey, says he's skipping the World Series of Poker because he's disappointed and embarrassed that his sponsor, Full Tilt Poker, hasn't paid back player deposits after pulling out of the U.S. market. Ivey says in a statement posted on his Facebook page late Tuesday that he's angry that players who support him have been treated poorly by the company facing severe legal problems.
June 3, 201114 yr QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 3, 2011 -> 01:47 AM) Ouch, that's no good. The whole Full Tilt Poker situation is a complete mess. I was pretty confident we'd be paid up until Ivey's announcement. In other news they announced they'll be adding a million dollar buy-in tourney next year to the WSOP. lolz.

June 4, 201114 yr QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 3, 2011 -> 07:19 AM) Yikes. So it will probably start and end heads up. Ha What's really comical is if 22 people register they will offer a bracelet for winning. Professional poker players committed to playing include Doyle Brunson, Andy Beal, Patrik Antonius, Gus Hansen, and Tony Guoga.
June 7, 201114 yr Main Event Numbers will be down this year and probably even more next year after the full effects of Black Friday have been felt.

June 12, 201114 yr Was Hellmuth's 11th in Hold Em or not? I know his first 10 were and I seem to remember him making a commitment a few years back to try quite a bit harder on the other games.

June 27, 201114 yr 3 Frenchies already have won. With poker legal overseas online, might see more and more Europeans make up the field and winning the minor events leading up to the Main Event.

I'm very angry that online poker for cash hath been nixed in the States. It's pretty f***ed up that the gov has the powah.
July 1, 201114 yr QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 27, 2011 -> 04:04 PM) I'm very angry that online poker for cash hath been nixed in the States. It's pretty f***ed up that the gov has the powah. Full Tilt Poker has been shut down completely. Also hoping some kind of legislation gets passed. It's pretty sad american adults can't login to an online poker site in their free time. There's still sites you can play on in the US. Like Merge Network, Bodog, etc... Edited July 1, 201114 yr by buhbuhburrrrlz

July 19, 201114 yr QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 15, 2011 -> 12:07 PM) Not a fan of the Live coverage on ESPN. Too much commentary to cover up dull hands. Not being able to play online poker much anymore has really killed my enjoyment of watching it.
July 20, 201114 yr the call on the November 9 bubble last night with KQos was one of the worst I can remember seeing
July 20, 201114 yr Not sure I like the live coverage too much. One guy was thinking about a move for 10 minutes last night. A little excessive and not TV friendly. I hope Lamb wins.
July 26, 201114 yr QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 10:17 AM) the call on the November 9 bubble last night with KQos was one of the worst I can remember seeing It was even more amazing given that he had folded the 49 hands prior to that. That's right, 49!!! Of course, it's why ESPN heavily edits their recap shows. Gotta feel that guy thought he was in a race at best and not a big dog.
August 15, 201114 yr Edited Main Event Coverage starts Tuesday. This year they are skipping the Day 1s and 2s completely and starting with Day 3 to get more name pros and eventual November 9 players on the TV coverage.

The 50,000 Players Championship with Helmuth last week was good TV.
November 9, 201114 yr Author WTF. They only showed the last 3 guys tonight. Didn't air first 6 eliminations from Sunday. Weak.
