They can then go into the 4 game set with the Tigers with Peavy, Sale, Liriano for 3 games in the Detroit series. Miixing in an off-day and Santiago/Axelrod give the White Sox one last opportunity to give Sale, and Peavy an extra extended rest. Of course, all this changes as the standings do, and if this division starts to get away from them. September 2, 201213 yr Author Thought they were playing next weekend. Weird scheduling. Monday it's Sanchez, Tuesday Porcello and Wednesday Fister. Friday Scherzer against LAA....Verlander Saturday, Sanchez Sunday. So it should be Porcello, Fister, Scherzer and Verlander. And Porcello has owned us recently this season. September 2, 201213 yr Why are you skipping Sale's start Saturday? I don't agree with skipping for extended rest unless he really, really needs it. Need your best starter pitching as many games as possible unless he needs something different. September 2, 201213 yr Author Agree. They can't afford to start Axelrod and Santiago any more times than necessary. It's all up to Herm and Cooper, though, in the end...after consulting with Ventura and KW.
