I'm watching The Best Damn Sports Show Period right now, and they're talking about fighting in sports. Do you think it's bad for sports, or is it good in that it unites the team?

They don't unite teams. All they do is get players suspended. Plain and simple.

half true... look at the 2000 team.. they united and got suspended...and it worked for them....... ;)

Well I guess it could go either way. If a teammate doesn't back you up, then it could tear a team apart.

exactly.....now you see the point....... ;) if you cant trust the guys you play with then who are ya gonna trust to have your back?????

I'd say the negative effect is much stronger than the positive effect. If you need a fight for you to trust your teammates, then you got problems.

nope missed the point on that one.. not what i was tryin to say... sorry.. maybe i should have explained it a bit better........what i meant is if you were in a fight you would hope that the guys you play with would be behind ya... is that better???

No, I think you are missing my point. A fight won't be necessary unless the team had major chemistry issues to begin with. If the team needs a fight to prove this they are in trouble. Teammates should have trust for one another, and they shouldn't need a fight to prove this.

I'd say a fight can definitely unite a team, but why in the hell are you watching the best damn sports show period?

Fights are good for one thing, and one thing only..... the making up.

Maybe they have a group hug..? Or light up cigars...? Or kick back and have a few beers...? That's what I meant...
