danman31
Less elbow room at the ballpark seems to mean more success for the White Sox. When the Sox rallied to win Monday's game against the Anaheim Angels in front of 32,381 fans, they improved to 9-3 at U.S. Cellular Field in front of crowds of 30,000 or more. ''We've had some pretty good crowds, crowds that have expressed their feelings one way or another and have gotten into the game, and guys feed off that,'' manager Jerry Manuel said. ''If you have to perform, either way, you would rather the performance be in front of your fans. Hopefully, for at least this week, we can continue that.'' With the Sox in a race with the Kansas City Royals and Minnesota Twins for the American League Central title, larger crowds likely will continue. The Sox averaged 30,341 over their last 22 home dates before Tuesday. In their first 38 games, their average was 18,323. Tuesday's paid attendance fell just under 30,000. If the Sox maintain the average they had in their previous 22 games, they will draw 2,000,935 fans for the season, making it the first time since 1993 they have gone over the 2 million mark. ''It's definitely nice,'' Tony Graffanino said. ''Obviously you want to have big crowds. You want to keep playing in front of people like that. And to win games for them while they're here is huge. We're going to need them to be behind us down the stretch and help us to win these ballgames.'' Doug Padilla Sox thriving thanks to big home crowds I didn't see any post this and it's very interesting. If this isn't reason enough to go to the park, I don't know what is! Chisoxfn
It would be nice to see the Sox draw 2 million. If they go deep this year, and spend some money next year and play good again, I think their goal should be 2.5 Mill.
