Very interesting read. I do see the two issues as two different issues. One is feeding the needy, especially children the other is supporting farms. We import more than half of our food. Various public policies are making it harder and harder to maintain our agriculture industries. That seems as vital to our national defense as helium, oil, and manufacturing. (We maintain a helium storage facility).
