I don't think they would trust Reed, to be honest. Their weaknesses are C, 2B and LF, and the bullpen. And Infante has been better this season than 2012. They don't need Keppinger, as they have Ramon Santiago for that role.

He's always on again, off again...but yeah, they probably would have trusted a veteran more than Reed...that's how Leyland thinks (just like Ozzie in that regard). That, and how quickly they temporarily gave up on the kid (Rondon?) who was anointed the closer coming into ST and didn't even make it onto the OD roster.
