Good job. That's a lot of work. Can you do this for all the other positions? :D

Tell you what. If you and/or some other people can help me out, then maybe we can make a better list of the positions. One that will be updated frequently and will have more information.

So after Phegley, either Blanke or Smith will have to make a jump forward at some point?

Maybe Majama?

Defense and the handling of pitchers is such an important part of the position and impossible to evaluate that strictly off numbers.

Smith is old for his level, so I guess Blanke is the best option from the system?

I think the takeaway is Phegley needs to establish himself as the guy because there isn't a lot that is a year or two away in the minors to write home about. The next wave that may emerge in my mind are Gonzalez, Ayala, and Pizzoli. The rest just seem to be guys filling a milb roster.

The hope here is that Phegley is good enough that we don't have to worry about any of these guys - maybe see Ayala, Barraza, or as of yet undrafted players as Phegley starts to get older and approaches FA (no doubt after a few WS titles for our Sox :D)

In addition to those three I'd include Haupt.

For whatever reason, Gonzalez isn't highly regarded by the organization. I know he's still young, but they've stopped giving him regular at-bats for a while now. Plus he'll probably need to be added to the 40 man roster in the near future, which definitely won't happen. I wouldn't expect much from him, at least not with the White Sox.
