Jake Cose was selected in the 27th round of the 2011 draft.A first baseman/third baseman for most of his two years at Delta College in San Joaquin, Calif., Cose was converted to closer on the strength of a 94-mph fastball late in the 2011 season. He helped lead the Mustangs down the stretch and through the playoffs compiling a 4-0 record in his only four starts of the year, helping Delta College to there first state title since 1959.

Back surgery a couple months ago, out for season, career in jeopardy.

Turns out he is back, but starts the season in extended ST (technically on the Dash DL) getting rehabbed and stretched back out.

He was my sleeper last year. Unfortunately, I believe this will be his last season in the Sox organization.
