August 27, 200322 yr Not to mention that 4, maybe 5 will have 30 or more, with Thomas, Lee, Ordonez, Everett and possibly Valentin...
August 27, 200322 yr And all this is after over 3 months of corpseball. I am in shock. Was it only 3 months? It felt like 8.

Yes, that is very true. Of course if you toss his 18 hrs with texas, then you have to include the 7 dingers Jimenez had while still with us, etc. In any case I am just looking at the talent on the team NOW, and Carl's 18 hrs with Texas are a testament to that talent, and what we can hopefully expect from him down the stretch.
August 27, 200322 yr How in the hell are we hitting so many home runs? Our righties were blasting them left and right versus the Yanks last night. Can we keep this up??

Everett's HR production hasn't been there with the Sox, but his batting average has gone up, so that's a good thing. We don't really need Everett to hit HR anyway -- getting on base and being aggressive is what we need from Carl. Let Lee, Thomas, Magglio, and Konerko take care of the mashing.

The winning attitudes that Alomar and Everett have brought to this team are major factors in the team's turnaround this year, imho.
August 28, 200322 yr That there is a possibility the Sox will end the season with seven guys having at least 20 home runs? Mercy! We had 5 guys with 20+ HR in 2002... Ordonez (38), Thomas (28), Konerko (27), Lee (26), Valentin (25). In 2003, we've got a real chance at 6. Here are their totals as of now... Thomas (36), Lee (26), Ordonez (25), Valentin (22), Crede (16), Konerko (15). So we could very easily have 1 guy with 40+, 2 guys with 30+, and 2 or 3 with 25+. That would be amazing. If you want to include Everett, which you really can't do, he's got 24, 6 of which have come with the Sox. Either way, though, we've got some real power in our lineup, and we're showing everybody.
