February 24, 201412 yr Anybody else follow any forms of auto racing? I grew up following IndyCar and got into NASCAR about 15 years ago. Ryan Newman is from South Bend and my stepmother has co-workers who taught him in school. Jeff Gordon is from the Indy area very near where my wife is from, and Tony Stewart is from Southern Indiana not too far from where I live now. Anyway I stayed up to watch the end of the Daytona 500 after the 6 hour+ weather delay and Dale Earnhardt Jr. won for the second time. I'm not all fanatic about him like a lot of NASCAR fans, but it was good to see him win.
February 24, 201412 yr I've never really gotten into any sort of auto racing. I do somewhat keep up with who is winning in Nascar, but rarely watch more than a few laps of any race. I was happy that Jr won the Daytona 500 though. If I had to list my favorite driver I would say either him or Matt Kenseth, but I don't lose any sleep if either one finishes last. I've always wanted to go to a Nascar race as I've heard it is a completely different experience in person.
February 24, 201412 yr Author I've been to three Indy 500s but never a NASCAR race. There are two a year within 120 miles of me so I really ought to make it to one.
February 24, 201412 yr I used to follow F1 pretty religiously. My favorite driver is Robert Kubica however he is out of F1 these days because of the accident he suffered in Montreal years ago. Also the adult lifestyle makes it hard to keep up with races due to time difference. But I check results occasinally.

Grew up in Europe as a kid there it was known as top tier car racing, legends like Senna, Proist, Lauda. I got into it in time when Schumacher was driving for Benetton Renault and specifically the season when Damon Hill and Schumi battled all year for the title. My brother actually was the one to point me to F1. We would watch broadcast on german tv in another lanugage via satelitte feeds.

In the Indy 500, he will drive for long-time IndyCar driver and now owner Michael Andretti.
