September 1, 200322 yr We play our next 25 games, 15 in home. And we all know that we are great team on home. If we get a 12-3 or 11-4 record in home and 5-5 on the road...we would be with a 90-72 record or 89-73...that will be good to win the division. What you boys and gals think?
September 1, 200322 yr If the road losses were all to Minnesota, we're in deep trouble. So I think it's less a home road thing, because we're playing pretty well everywhere now, but more a "how do we play minny and KC" thing.
September 1, 200322 yr I think 90 wins will be enough to win this division. I suddenly think that Minnesota's starting rotation is starting to become a real big worry for them again. Radke's gettin lit up and they depend too much on Rogers and Santana. The Royals even though they get many timely hits with runners in scoring position just aren't good enough with the pitching either. Brian Anderson and Kevin Appier just ain't gonna cut in September and in the postseason for that matter. This series with Boston is gonna be pretty big. If we can sweep it, it'll just increase the gap between us and the other 2 just a little bit more and it'll make that much harder for them to catch us. I actually think Jon Garland is a key. If he can pick 3 wins on the way home, I'll think we'll win the division cos thet big 3 should win enough games as well. If Garland struggles we could be int rouble without a reliable 5th starter. He needs to pitch the way he did in Detroit for the rest of the season. I wonder what the Twins and Royals would give up for Cy Loaiza right now?
September 1, 200322 yr I think this division is ours to lose now. The hitters are hitting, the pitchers are pitching and we even have defense. Leading by a 1 1/2 game margin and ready to rock and roll in September. This will be fun. Wednesday we are on ESPN versus Boston and I'll be there in front of the old RCA.
September 1, 200322 yr I've said it before, and I'll say it again.....the team that wins this division will be the team that comes out and flat dominates in the head-to-head games against the other two contending teams in the division(because I believe one team will). With the Twins and Royals pretty much splitting their last 7 games, I think it shows that it truely is our division to lose.

The Captain is putting on the fasten seatbelts sign, this is going to be a bumpy ride or while on the roller coaster please keep your hands and heads inside the ride at all times, enjoy!
