Stewart Update

Featured Replies

I didn't realize the kind of problems that Stewart was still having, this is scary stuff.

Left-hander Josh Stewart also hopes to contribute down the stretch, but that's asking a lot.

The Sox recalled Stewart from Charlotte on Monday and placed him on the disabled list with circulatory problems in his left hand.

Stewart never fully recovered from getting hit in the chest by a Jeff Conine line drive at Baltimore on April 24. Doctors diagnosed Stewart as having Raynaud's syndrome.

"My fingers kind of get numb, get cold," he said. "It's kind of painful. I've been spending the summer in the doctor's office, which isn't much fun."

Ouch, I hope he gets 100% better. I feel bad for the guy.

Wow. I hope the guy's alright. He had a pretty good spring and a couple nice starts for the Sox before the roof caved in. I think he might possibly be able to help this team in the future...
