Teacher Tex "Is this really your work?

Student "yes!"

You answered all these on your own and these are you best answers?

Yes, why?

Well, I'm really surprised by your grade.

I really, really studied for this test

Really, you studied?

Yes

Then I am even more surprised then, you only have one correct answer!

Stunned look

Tex is running off new copies of test questions at 7:00 am

Last night

Tex gets message with a Twitter screen capture of another student's answer document from another class who took the test earlier that day. Yeah school districts keep tabs on these things.

Nailed seven in my class for cheating. Best of all, even if I hadn't changed the test, they would only have earned a 50.

How does that work? Handled in your class by grade only? Parents called? Suspension?

Handled in class. As class ended I asked those that had cheated to stay (shocked looks) and said if you think you got away with it and want to leave, that's your choice. But I can't help you if you leave. One girl stayed who I had not caught. LOL. The two that left are being dealt with by the administration. The four that came clean lost all the points on the multiple choice part and will only receive a grade for their essays. Basically a 64 is their best grade. Enough for them all to still pass. The two that walked are in much hotter water.

I have parents coming in on Tuesday.
