Just FYI, according to Comcast Sports Chicago this afternoon Beck who was a possible candidate to start in that DH has been placed on the DL in the minor leagues. They didn't say why.

I thought I read somewhere that he got hit by a line drive his last outing

As FutureSox reported via Twitter, he went to the DL after being hit by a line drive in his last start. Hit somewhere in the shoulder or arm, local source said it made a pretty bad sound. He was helped off the field, though under his own power.

 

Good news is, impact injuries with a ball like that aren't usually long-term problems (as long as it doens't hit them in the head).
