Padres Can't Stop Being Sadder Than the White Sox

Comparing the Sox and Padres

Interesting comparison between how bad the Padres have been compared to the Sox, despite both teams trying to compete by going all in over the last few years.

I can't open the link, but this is a common comparison. We're in the "lightning in a bottle" mode, where we reload every year. It just doesn't work when you can't draft everyday big leaguers. Regardless of what you think about a "full rebuild", the White Sox have to draft positional talent better or none of this is going to work.

We haven't had a 100 member LGBT chorus booed yet at USCF...?

Actually, would be curious to read the article. Appreciate the CEO's putting pressure on the GM while still simultaneously praising him for some of the good things he's already accomplished while not ignoring the obvious disappointment of the last two seasons.

Very true statement, given what we saw last offseason with the team's inability/reluctance to compete for the premium positional talent that was available in free agency.

Thompson sporting a career OPS (roughly 40-45% of one season's worth of AB's) of over 900 still.

Exited yesterday's game with a stiff back.

Marcus Semien at 759 with 11 homers and 25 RBI's. Trayce, for his part, already has 9 homers.

Montas is close to being able to contribute as a reliever at the big league level.

Those two have combined for 20 homers, the entire White Sox team other than Frazier is only at 32.

Here is the full address link. Should work now:

I agree, though. They do need to draft better positional talent. I think Tim Anderson will be the first successful home-grown player in a while, that is, if they don't trade him away.

I REALLY wish they would have given up on Avi and kept Trayce. He obviously had a lot more potential, a lot more upside, and a lot more fire than Avi does/did. I think what we have seen from Avi is what we will get, I hope I am wrong, but he seems like another Dayan Viciedo.

At least the Padres realize what they are as an organization at this point, the Sox OTOH...............

Yeah, didn't they just dump Shields on us?

Matt Kemp is available, KW, get it done!!

Better yet, Kemp and Myers. Let's just start going crazy like Prince and AJ Preller in the 2014-15 off-season.
