Twins' announcers picking on Getz for complaining about not being able to get anyone willing to play in front of the Sox defense when Getz was ultimately the one responsible for it.
I am also listening to the Twins announcers and I have to admit I like them quite a bit

It might take a few years to not lose 100 games. Worst org. ever?
Definitely losing another 100+ next year

I expected this team to float a few to several games below ,500 for awhile, at least pre-Cease trade. I expected improved defense and cleaner baseball. I hoped Robert's 2023 health would continue into 24, and we'd see a really nice contract year from Yoan. Obviously non of that has happened, but I don't think many people pre-season truly expected this to be an historically poor club.
I expected 100 losses, but i didnt expect an historically bad season. We havent even entered the tough part of the schedule yet.

You know our organization is in a terrible spot when Twins fans are starting to feel bad for us.

High energy/makeup player, doesn't have a big carrying tool but is good at a little bit of everything and playable almost everywhere. Switch hitting line drive guy with a solid approach. He was doing well enough as a utility guy in Kanny, then took off after being promoted to WS as the everyday SS. The bat hasn't looked back since, even after another promotion to AA this year. Probably not a shortstop longterm, but the org is high on him overall.
Its really encouraging to see players drafted in the later rounds doing well.

Anything on Brooks Baldwin? His start to the year is eye opening and I am not able to find anything on him.

As Jerry himself has said he makes enough from his negotiated domestic and international deals to cover his payroll before a single ticket is sold, a single car is parked and a single beer is sold.

Thanks for this, good insights

I don't know anything about the finances of a company, but can anyone explain how his "be in second place" mentality is the best way to make money? I am comparing revenues by teams from 2002-2022 and the White Sox 'carrot on the stick' approach seems to fall behind the growth of other teams around our valuation (looked at Phillies, Padres, and Blue Jays).
In my opinion, if Jerry just hired the right people to help run his franchise, put out a good product year in and year out, and didn't blame the fans for all of their shortcomings, then they would probably be bringing in much higher numbers. Maybe I am missing something. He still x100 his investment from when he bought the franchise so what do i know.
For those interested, I was going over the Forbes valuations list.- 1

I saw somewhere that the Sox are have been outscored 2-50 in the first game of series play, with 6 shutouts.
This season is going to bring out some mind boggling stats just like the Barry Bonds ones.
