    Grandal is one of us.

In 2020 he signed a contract expecting to be part of a window of multiple championship opportunities. Like hundreds of thousands of Sox fans, he was excited and pumped for the future. He thought one day he and Leury the Legend would be on a float heading down Michigan Avenue. 😆

By 2023 he is part of the biggest s%*# show in sports and like hundreds of thousands of Sox fans is saying "f*** this s%*#, this franchise sucks, I want out".

Like many of us, by the All Star break he didn't want to watch any games. He wanted to go to the lake with his family. Can we blame him?

He too was fooled by JR and his minions. Lucy pulled the football on him.

We can look away, he can't. Bwahahaha. Enjoy the millions, you earned it for enduring years of this.

He's one of us. Welcome to the nightmare.

And the rest of us got … what?
    He ain’t “one of us”

I don't know if we're just turning this into a thread about Anderson's motivation or whatever, but golly gee whiz this is pretty darn blatant as to why his power numbers aren't where they were a couple years ago. At this rate, 3 years from now every time he swings the ball will be bouncing straight up off the plate. Is someone teaching this? This is so blatant it has to be on purpose right?

I think people should be using more “Golly gee whiz” in common parlance.  Highly underrated.  Right up there with “punkin’ head”.

  3. As a professional designer, my opinion:

    • TOTAL lack of vision
    • REALLY weak execution
    • absolutely AWFUL presentation

If I showed my clients something like this I’d be fired.  I shared this with my daughter who is an interior designer that works on major architectural projects and she agreed.  I’m still contending that someone in the org had their 16 year old kid do this because they knew how to use some free rendering software.  Completely unprofessional work.

I'm not talking politics.  I'm stating an example on where it's childish to completely block out someone who doesn't agree with you.   And for a managerial hire, tell me that's not childish?   It's actually laughable.

But repeatedly criticizing a bunch of strangers on a baseball forum is … what?

I thought people who bought a Tesla received a tax credit. Basically a company can charge more for their product if their customers are getting a little elsewhere.

I think the number is something like a sales cap of 200,000 vehicles sold.  Vehicles (individual models, not brands) over that do not qualify (which include teslas and some GMs I believe).   I’m not sure if there’s a hard cutoff or a typical convoluted phase out.  Also, the $7500 is not for every EV - I think the actual number is tied to battery capacity and other things.  But, like I said, your point in general still stands.

It's less than we'll send to Ukraine. Call it a university bailout.

Arguably Tesla is the most successful automobile manufacturer over the last ten years. So why are we paying millionaires a  $7,500 tax credit to buy a Tesla?

For the record, Teslas don’t qualify because they exceed the production volume quota.  That said, I get your point 100%

If they hire Ozzie after the TLR f*** up I’m done.  Out of town baseball fan until the White Sox are in competent hands.  If that ever happens…

Same here.  I didn’t watch this year (got my updates here) because after supporting the rebuild I was so fed up with their incompetence last winter, but it looks like they may double down and take it to a new level.  Sheesh.

Anyone think Hahn leaked this basically indicating this is who he wants but Reinsdorf is overruling him again like the Hinch/TLR thing?

Actually, with as secretive as they try to be, I’ve become convinced JR deliberately changes course if news gets out because he always wants to be the smartest person in the room.   I think it’s entirely possible that, at least in principle, they had decided Espada was their guy and even JR was on board.  News leaked and JR says “they think they’re smarter than me?  I’ll show them!  Rick we’re going a different way.”  That would fit being such an arrogant ass.
