My wife had one dose of the Moderna vaccine, and has had nerve pain in her feet and spreading up to her knees for 2 weeks. Her white blood cell count went from 1,100 to 15,000. They think she is having an autoimmune response to the vaccine. They cancelled her second dose.

Did she have any autoimmune issues prior?  Asking because my daughter has Celiacs and started with back pain morning after first Pfizer shot.  Pretty sure she wrenched her back, but still worried it’s a one in a million reaction.

  2. Got my first Pfizer shot yesterday, no side affects at all.  Not even a sore arm.

Get your vaccines as soon as your eligible.  If your down for a day or two that’s nothing compared to actually getting the virus, and the quicker we can get people vaccinated the more we slow down the mutations.  So yes, do it for yourself, but do it for others as well.

At this point I'm going to wait until my HR gets something setup for all the employees at my workplace or they are readily available at CVS/Walgreens or whatever without having to schedule an appointment.

I've been signed up with my local heath department since early February and every time I check CVS/Walgreens websites they say nothing is available within 25 miles.

Keep trying around 7:30am.  I would often see what you described, and sometimes I’d be able to book the first dose but then it would say no appts available for second dose, try again later. Finally broke through this morning - first shot is Tuesday!

  4. Anyone have any tips on locating a vaccine??  I’m technically 1B because of my job - got my name on the list at DuPage Medical, Walgreens, and DuPage Cty Health.  Seems like I’m expected to spend hours trying to find an opening somewhere .....

It should be pointed out that Sale played most of his Sox career under the most laid back non confrontational manager possible in Ventura.  It would be interesting to know if the jersey incident, the LaRoche nonsense he was involved in, or his locker room break in with the Royals would have occurred with a LaRussa type personality in the clubhouse.

If nothing else, I think its safe to say that Sale proves that even if there is a clubhouse incident this year, it is possible that it may not be 100% TLR's fault, although it will be painted that way by some no matter what.

Don’t disagree with anything you said.  I was just reacting to the idea that athletes couldn’t behave like children

Even if Lucroy can catch decently (which is not a certainty), the Sox really can't afford his dead bat in the lineup.

If you can’t afford a weak bat from a position that is 1/9 of your lineup and primarily defensive (and often better D than the starter) then the correct answer is : “we didn’t build or roster correctly”

I have always thought Getz was a smart hard-working player and done very well in his player development role.  Wise of RH to have baseball types around him.  Brings a different skill set to the table.

Poppy, I can’t tell if you incessant optimism wears me out or is wearing me down ...

If you signed an mlb free agent for that much you'd be practically guaranteed it. But I look at the Rays and see a team that just rolled their way to a pennant with a roster full of low risk acquisitions. It all comes down to whether the organization determines he's good enough or not. It would basically be a depth signing. I'd rather if the Sox are investing serious resources in a player it goes into the pitching staff where its actually needed. If they do that, then the best low risk options are what they had have to consider in right. Even if the Sox were willing to pay whatever it took to get Bauer and Springer, I'd still rather put that springer money into more pitching and go with Engel and maybe a guy like Sung-Bum if the Sox think he's mlb caliber. If the Sox could sign Bauer, Springer and more pitching, I'd still go with more pitching on top of that rather than invest in springer. Right field production just isnt the nexus of future success when the Sox already have a top three offense that is on the upswing either way

Since you used the Rays as your example, no, it comes down to whether the organization has the ABILITY to determine if a FA is good or not, and does so CORRECTLY. Rays, Sox, not equal.
