    You don't let a guy show you up, show your team up, and show your fans up in their stadium.

    It's that simple. Baldelli asked for something that was intended to make the same point as the old school knock-down pitch, without risking injury.

    If you handled it  differently as Twins manager  OK but your fans and players would think you were a pussy.

    I don't give a fuck about what old school baseball thinks. Biggest group of snowflakes in sports.

    And if I'm cranky TLR that actually is upset about my player not taking his sign, I'm addressing it in the clubhouse but not mentioning it to media.

    How would that feed cranky TLR's ego by not making a huge story out of this?

    I think more people had an issue with where Lamb was hitting, not that he was playing at all.

    Throwing a 85mph changeup right down the middle of the plate sure helped out too.

    One of the managers important roles is to publicly back your players 100% of the time. In hockey, a player can lay out an obvious dirty hit, but his manager will BS and say he didnt see a good angle of it or that it was a bang bang play or w/e.

    TLR has obviously failed miserably at this.
