QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 8, 2005 -> 06:34 PM) Geezus. Have some f'n respect. Bob Casey was one of the most recognizable voices in all of baseball, and while I certainly didn't enjoy it, it was part of coming to the Twinky-Dome that I'd remember. Calm down, the game will be on in a few minutes. But man, have some respect... :headshake Was he their PA guy? He was a funny guy. -

This is like Bizarro Soxtalk. -
QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Apr 7, 2005 -> 04:49 PM) Good words, but did you mean Luis instead of Jose? Well, they're are both burnt for the weekend. Luis especially for tommorow and Saturday.

QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Apr 7, 2005 -> 04:47 PM) I think just the opposite. A one-run lead is much more likely to go to extra innings than a three-run lead no matter who is playing defense. Agreed, I don't know what Irish means.

QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ Apr 7, 2005 -> 04:27 PM) I don't have a problem with coaches going to thier closer in the 9th, but the flurry of pitchers beforfe Shingo just ticks me off. I hate bringing in a pitcher for one batter. I think the only mistake made was bringing in Cotts in the 7th inning instead of Marte(credit Fathom). But then again the score was 5-1 at the time. The one batter thing was only with 2 pitchers and at that time was probably the logical decision.

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 7, 2005 -> 04:22 PM) At that point the game was over. Putting Garland in probably would have been a waste. He just sacrificed Vizcaino. Bases loaded 1 out, Garland a ground ball pitcher though as Qwerty pointed out not much of one. I still think Ozzie should have given it a go. -

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 7, 2005 -> 04:19 PM) Cotts was shaky as hell, remember? He put runners at the corners. Also, if Ozzie had left Politte in the game he would have had to face Hafner, a power-hitting lefty. Where were you, man? I'm satisfied with the way Ozzie handled the situation but where was Garland? -

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Apr 7, 2005 -> 04:17 PM) He couldn't have known. But I don't blame Ozzie for failing to remove Shingo I'm wondering why Ozzie used Cotts/Marte/Politte in specialist roles, each recording only one out. Marte is more valuable than a specialist, Cotts should pitch more than one inning, whereas Politte (depending LH/RH batter) could have defintely pitched deeper considering this is his first outting. Because of this, the bullpen was stretched out and Vizcaino was left to rot. Cotts was coming out of the game pretty much no matter what there. -

QUOTE(whitesoxfan56789 @ Apr 7, 2005 -> 04:06 PM) True..but i dont see why cotts, pollite and marte all faced 1 batter and were taken out. That is what pisses me off more than the loss. I hated seeing Viz struggle when he was forced into it. Cotts faced more than one batter, he probably had to be taken out when he was. The questions are should Politte have stayed in to face a lefty? Should Marte have gone into the 8th? Or should have Hermanson continued? All fun points to debate. But points that Ozzie was probably right to think none were going to ever be considered. Plus we did have Vizcaino as emergency. Things went to complete s*** in a hurry, this happens so infrequently in a season that I'm not going to put any blame on Ozzie for that. BUT FOR GOD'S SAKE BRING IN JON G IN THE 11TH! -

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 7, 2005 -> 03:55 PM) the game is over, sox lose, they are down by 6. Even Wickman cant bring us back in this one. It happens. Ozzie will learn from this one. Wickman won't be pitching. -

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 7, 2005 -> 03:46 PM) Well, I would have wanted to put Garland in but he probably would have choked away the game anyways. Considering he's a ground ball pitcher I would have liked to see him in there. -

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 7, 2005 -> 03:23 PM) I think im going to have to agree with Hawk on this one. I would rather give this game up then have Jon have to go like 3 innings and screw everything for the next week. Disagree, we had the day off and Buehrle didn't throw that many pitches the other day. His foot worries me slightly though. -
