Isn't this like the 3rd or 4th time in recent memory that the Sox have just not known that their dudes can't see?  I might be exaggerating that a bit but I feel as this isn't the first time this has happened with this organization lately.

I can only recall Reylo, but wouldn’t be surprised if there were others.

OK, this hits and I get it, I need to understand something though, because I even question myself. Indulge me...

We love the White Sox, but:

    We hate the ownership

    We hate the management.

We can't stand the current players because they have poor ethic, talent, and interest.

Any worthwhile players now or in the future will be let go once they become too expensive anyway.

So, what exactly are we fans of?

The idea of it getting better, as realistic or unrealistic as that may seem. Even the most pessimistic of us still gotta dream.

In the mean time, if I'm going to spend 2 hours watching a baseball game, I'm not going to watch it and hope we lose. Why would I do that to myself? Why spend my free time making myself miserable? I don't get it.

I mean if you’re spending two hours watching a Sox game, you’re probably gonna be miserable regardless, so who cares?

Also, I’m assuming anyone that’s hoping the Sox lose isn’t actually watching full games start to finish.

If the Panicman wants an OF that can't hit, he could at least target one that can run and catch.

I keep reading this as Pacman, and to that I say: Pacman for GM because why the hell not

Because he seems to like to f*** over young players and those are much more important.  He makes the team worse and is the epitome of a buffon.

Yeah, the "Who cares? The team will suck anyway" comments are always a little odd to me. There's a lot more at stake than just the win-loss record for this year's team.

Like this is a perfect example of what I am talking about here.  We cut Ortega to get Fletcher on the roster, and now we aren't playing him.  That isn't good for his development, his confidence, and it sure doesn't help this franchise at all for the future.  He needs to be playing daily, somewhere.  If he isn't ready for Chicago, why is he here?

And before someone states that the manager is the problem, the GM is his boss.  Either the GM tells the manager to get Fletcher into the line up, or he is OK with him not being there.  Why the hell does Andrew Benitendi need to be in the line up every day with his .500 OPS and terrible glove?  Gavin Sheets has hit for a .582 over the last two weeks anyway, and it still one of the worst defenders in baseball.  Fletcher's season OPS is actually higher than 10D, and not much less than what Sheets has put up the last couple of weeks at .548.

Remember when we were fixing the defense for the pitchers so they would want to come here?  Yeah, what happened to that plan?

Pedro just stating the obvious: The Sox have too much talent to find a spot for Fletcher.

And they started the season with the entire starting lineup being injured, in a horrible slump, or playing at the expected low level (Maldonado).

The lines can get pretty blurry between “horrible slump” and “playing at the expected low level.”

And if the latter group only includes Maldonado and none of Lopez, Pillar, Dejong, Fletcher, Shewmake, Benintendi and Vaughn, I’d say that’s a massive miscalculation on Getz’s part.

Horrible slump implies throwing your hands up and saying “What’re you gonna do” when there is significant reason to believe a player is much better than what they are currently showing.

I don’t think any of the guys I mentioned can confidently fit into that category.

Look if there is any organization that can represent going in circles for long periods of time and then ending up in the exact same place they started, it's the White Sox.

Take a bow, this is good.

I typed four little words about mEtRiCs and you fuckin idiots lose your minds.  Lots of irrational anger here. :lolhitting

Ah yes, the dude that seems to add a few more exclamation points every time he makes the same dumb post is DEFINITELY not the irrationally angry one.

Nearly 9 strikeouts per 9 IP, 2.4 walks per 9 IP, 1.06 WHIP all look good to me. 2.3 bWAR, 0.9 fWAR also nice ~25% of the way into the season.

Oh I completely agree. The condescending and dismissive pOsTs AbOuT aNaLyTiCs are just obnoxious is all.

  11. It's probably safe to say that most of us knew little to nothing about either guy before today. It's also probably safe to say that this trade ends up being of no real significance on the field.

That being said, for an organization that has stubbornly operated in a shortsighted manner for years and years, it should be pretty obvious why many aren't ready to give them the benefit of the doubt here.

We're all just desperate for inklings of evidence that there's a longer term plan in place. This move does not exactly help with that.

If you're a true fan, it's never entertaining to watch your team lose.  We may boycott the stadium and JR but to wish for the Sox to lose the most games in MLB history, is what I would call a traitor or a Cub fan.....take your pick.

You forgot the third option of doing whatever the hell you want to do as a fan, but thanks for sharing your rules.
