What The Actual F# Is Wrong With This Team?
That's why I said on paper. On paper, the 05 White Sox weren't necessarily the best team. That being said, the amount of injuries this year have been catastrophic. And I really hope people are now realizing the value of someone like Moncada.

I think the issue right now with ground balls is actually the baseball and many teams, including the White Sox are goign to have to find ways to adjust to this.

What The Actual F# Is Wrong With This Team?
This team will either go the way of the 2011 Sox or the 2011 Tigers. Honestly, I think they go the way of the 2011 Tigers who got off to a pretty bad start and until the end of the season were mired in mediocrity. Maybe a better example is last year's Braves. On paper, this is the best team in the AL. That being said games aren't played on paper. They need to get healthy but this team is absolutely better than the Twins. The Twins starting pitching is going to break down towards the end of the season. There is nothing in the White Sox track record to say this. Also a note on Dallas. He wasn't great last night but he was good enough to win but the Sox defense let him down. He has been better this year. He may never find his 2015 or 2020 form again but he can be effective. But especially with him, the defense has to do their part. Abreu's error was completely inexcusable. Keuchel is at his best when he has control over his pitches. I can only imagine his mindset when he sees the Defensive trainwreck that this team has been over the past week and a half. And it probably doesn't help him.

Would you rather . . .
If the Sox don't get past this ALDS this year, Larussa will be gone

Awful bunt.

Why would you take ReyLo out after one inning?

Sox @ Twins
Yes he does. People often forget how good he was in 2018.

Eloy Out 6-8 Weeks
If it's a grade 2 hamstring tear, it's painful but likely doesn't require surgery. Not a medial expert but this seems about right. If I recall, Madrigal's was grade 3. Madrigal couldn't get up on his own. Eloy was at least able to get up on his own before being carted. We will almost certainly get him before the All Star break.

Eloy Out 6-8 Weeks
Grade 2 wouldn't be terrible. Is the time frame still around 2 months?
-
Eloy Out 6-8 Weeks
So it's likely Grade 3? If all goes well, it puts him back at the All Star break. Madrigal's injury happened in June and would have sidelined him for the rest of the year anyways.

Eloy Out 6-8 Weeks
Absolutely fucking not. They can still win the AL central. We also don't know if Eloy is out for the year or an extended amount of time.

4/20 game thread Sox at CLE
At least Keuchel is closer to his 2020 form than his 2021 form. The defense needs to be better. Especially with him pitching. Inexcusable to have three errors in 1 inning of play.

And that's a 3-2 White Sox on Apple TV winner!
I don't want to jinx this season but I think this is a better team than the 05 White Sox. Certainly on paper they are. Obviously so much goes into what makes a great team. But I think this is legitimately a special team.

Cubs 2022 thread
Once the Cubs get outside their division, they are in for a rude awakening. I don't think their pitching can hold up at all to the really good offenses in the NL.

THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!
I think Liam will be fine. If I recall, he kind of struggled in April. Also, the ramp up likely did him no favors.

HOME OPENER GAMETHREAD 4/12/22: Sox vs Mariners (Velasquez vs Brash) 3:10 pm CDT
He's insanely versatile in the field. It's one of the reasons I don't want to trade him.

Put Vaughn in as a defensive replacement for Eloy.

Would much rather see Reynoldo in here.

A's interested in Andrew Vaughn/Sox in Montas
I would legit think about doing Sheets +Kelly later on in the year. I do think Sheets is a good depth piece. Vaughn has been fantastic for the first week and I don't think it's a fluke.

A's interested in Andrew Vaughn/Sox in Montas
Yep. And has experience doing this on the big stage! I also think Keuchel is going to surprise people with just how good he is this year. I don't think he'll replicate 2020 but it'll be closer to that than it was to 2021.

A's interested in Andrew Vaughn/Sox in Montas
THey can get Montas without Vaughn. To be honest though, if they can ride this ship till July, Syndergaard will likely be available (not buying the Angels at all). Syndergaard will be a hell of a lot cheaper than Montas.

Tony's Bullpen Usage 2022
Honestly, with the injuries the Sox have to their staff and the late start, I'm thankful we have TLR helming the ship right now as this is undoubtedly something he has had to deal with before.

Cubs 2022 thread
Brewers have a lot of issues but the Cubs aren't that good of a team and once they face offenses that aren't borderline anemic like the Brewers, the weaknesses are going to be exposed. I honestly don't think Stroman lasts the year with them.

White Sox Winner!
We'll be posting this thread a lot. This is a really good team.
