  1. Better. I think we'll keep on scoring. Would take 6ip and 4 runs.
  2. Balls and strikes are actually getting worse the further we get into this. Teams are scared to lose challenges and umps are getting away with it.
  3. Benni bloop. Still furious that Romo didn't make a challenge to what could have been strike 3 in the first. Not a proponent of blowing challenges but it looked like it touched the zone.
  4. Yeah but the offense isn't great. Boston is the team that scares me. Yankees offense and their bullpen issues as well as their defensive lapses make them vulnerable. Those vulnerabilities were on display against us.
  5. Guardians pulling away from the pack with the wild card is probably a good thing for our overall playoff chances.
  6. I reiterate this but anybody who thought the cubs would catch the brewers this year were out of their minds. You cannot drop multiple games in a row and expect to catch a team like that this is so well drilled and basically working from muscle memory about what they have to do down the stretch.
  7. I do think it's interesting that the two MLB teams that resemble City in terms of their relentlessness and ability to go on insane runs to hunt teams down are Milwaukee and Cleveland, two small market teams. I do think the Brewers are a lot more relentless than this model of Cleveland. It basically requires a team to be perfect down the stretch to go toe to toe with them. Don't feel that way about this year's Cleveland.
  8. I will say that as an Arsenal supporter, I do feel like I have some immediate experience of what this is like. In other words, I have supported a team that has felt like it's being chased by the T-1000 from Terminator with Man City. There are some similarities with the Guardians and City but this also feels like how I felt about City last year, being a team with real vulnerabilities. Guardians pitching isn't as good as what it was in their pomp. They got away with it against the Angels. But there are teams they will be playing that won't let them get away with it. It does feel like a psychodrama though.
  9. I have to be honest, and I know Suarez isn't a like for like but I'd consider sending acuna down to make space for him. I don't know what acuna's value is right now beyond pinch running. And O'Doyle can do that. Would rather have a guy with power off the bench.
  10. Great guy in the clubhouse. Is loved everywhere he went.
  11. Hes a DH/3B. Would probably platoon. I think he does provide experience and the power numbers are still ok. More importantly, he has a .982 ops at Comiskey. 2 home runs here this year. I think he's likely looking for one final shot at a World Series so putting him in a pennant race will probably entice him.
  12. 21 will be the Toddfarher. Clearly
  13. I went to school with him. I know his sister. Pretty sure she and Walker were in the same social group.
  14. 24 also straight up iconic.
  15. I really hope we win and guardians lose tomorrow because almost nobody of significance has worn 26 for the Sox. But, we all know what 25 will be.
  16. Champions league draw today. Arsenal have a tougher fixture list this year. Could be worse. Some good glamour ties in there
  17. Definitely not. Iguchi talked about how difficult the adjustment was in his first season. Also the rhythms of that seasons are completely different. They don't have 16 game stretches like they just did. And the travel isn't anything like what it is here.
  18. It was a gritty performance by Burke. Not good but he made good pitches when he needed to. Don't think it's a return to the mean as much as someone who needs a few days on the beach.
  19. I think Vargas is the ideal #2 hitter in today's game. He's a power guy with speed and excellent plate discipline. He'll get on but he won't clog up bases
  20. Sean deserves a nice day at the beach today.
