  1. To be honest, I didn't have an issue with Tony last year. But the regression he's shown this year as a manager is stunning. He lacks any of the fire he had last year. And the defensiveness is new. This Kopech thing could end up being nothing but at a certain point, Tony is going to be responsible for a major injury. A lot of this just makes me sick to my stomach right now.
  2. To think this spot in the rotation used to be Keuchel. Everytime Cueto goes to the mind, it's as close to an automatic win as you can get.
  3. When was his second bout of covid?
  4. This division sucks. And the Guardians are overachieving. One strong week for the Sox wins them the division. They have been pretty solid since the start of July and have managed to really avoid any prolonged losing streaks. They just need one prolonged winning streak.
  5. Every time I'm out, they pull me back in!!!
  6. The inability to hit the ball in the air is causing this. You get a ball in the air to the outfield with a runner on third with less than two outs and more times than not, that runner will score. It's infuriating. It's really down to the horrible approach Menechino is taking with them. I also maintain that the firing Menechino is way more important than firing La Russa. The Sox problem is simple this year. They aren't hitting home runs. Our complaints about TLR are nullified if the Sox offense was doing what it was built to do.
  7. I doubt it. I think it was because the last two starts were particularly brutal, broke up winning streaks, and were the sole reason why the White Sox lost. Was he a fall guy? Perhaps. But I also just think it was the right call to make.
  8. I repeat that firing Menechino is way more important than getting rid of TLR. Sox are hitting home runs and we aren't talking about TLR.
  9. He's looked really good. I think we shouldn't discount some of the work that Katz can do with him.
  10. The other stuff is likely off the field crap but this is symptomatic of many of the White Sox hitters and again, to me, points back at the hitting coach.
  11. I don't think this is the case. But I think Menechino's approach is awful with the new baseball that's being used. With the juiced ball, it was fine. But all you have to do is look at the Groundball rates to see the problems. Home runs are down but I do think the approach Menechino has employed is particularly bad.
  12. To be honest, firing Menechino would improve this team so much and actually make TLR a lot more bearable. A lot of the stuff we get on TLR on is a symptom of not being able to hit home runs. We start hitting the ball out of the park and the TLR stuff becomes moot. At least my two cents. I don't know what the fuck is keeping Menechino.
  13. A good 10 game stretch likely wins the division for them. I know the Twins got better but they still don't stack up on paper to what the Sox have. Both Lynn and Gio looked really good in their starts.
  14. I think Hawk is the worst. But this is slowly beginning to blow up in Hahn's face. On a side note, Kenny was, and still is, by far the best GM the organization has ever had. He was unafraid to be both creative and also bold. I always go back to the deadline deal he made in 2004 for Contreras which upgraded their rotation at the time, he finished 2004 better than Loaiza, and was absolutely key in 2005 when they won the World Series. I think KW would have been able to have gotten a deal done at the deadline this year by being creative, even if it meant trading someone on the Major League roster. He is also someone who was able to look at failures from past seasons and address them in the off season, thinking of 2004 and 2007 specifically.
  15. Maybe I'm just reading into some of Hahn's statements but it seems like if the lack of power continues, Menechino could be gone really soon.
  16. Who knows what Crochet will turn into, especially given Tommy John Surgery. I would be ok with that. DO we think hitting at US cellular could give Happ bigger power numbers than he already has?
  17. It's decent. The market on Chafin must have been insane.
  18. He actually got vaccinated before the Orioles latest trip to Toronto.
  19. Wonder what a package of Rodon and Joctober would look like?
  20. That's insane. I don't think it'll cost that. I think likely a mid tier prospect. He's a rental.
  21. I like Beinintendi but his vax status freaked me out as well as the fact that he doesn't hit for that much power. The Sox need a big left handed thumper. If the Sox can't get Soto, and quite frankly given the price tag I don't think Soto is being dealt, Bryan Reynolds would be the ideal fit.
