  1. This strike zone is baffling
  2. My friend Katie, who is queer and whose wedding I went to, works for Howard Brown. She knows the Hendriks and has nothing but great things to say about them and how wonderful allies they are to the LGBTQ community. I identify as queer myself. It's wonderful to see someone who is as big of a name as Liam being such an ally.
  3. https://theathletic.com/3361419/2022/06/14/liam-hendriks-white-sox-pride-night/ I'm very glad this guy is on my team!
  4. It says within a year. Haven't found longterm statistics. Average IL visit is 117 days but that is taking into account the pitchers who had Tommy John. https://www.drahmadsportsmedicine.com/forearm-muscle-strains-alarming-relationship-ucl-injuries/
  5. Did a bit more digging. Only 20% of flexor strains result in Tommy John surgery according to statistics I read via the magic of Google. Tanner Houck also got shut down with a right flexor strain earlier this year and he's doing ok.
  6. Fire Tony and install me as manager. I'll let Soxtalk set the lineups.
  7. For what it's worth, Andrew Miller had a flexor strain in 2015 and returned within a month. And didn't have Tommy John Surgery. Obviously that's ideal but it might be the best one to one comparison in terms of career and usage. Ptatc knows more than any of us but it might not be as bleak as we think it is.
  8. Didn't they briefly make him a closer because of this?
  9. Wow. Just chiming in here to say that I lived in Missouri for four years and St. Louis pizza is truly horrific.
  10. Last one was ace. I think he found it in the last at bat.
  11. Rather they just put Cease out there for an inning.
  12. The 2019 Nationals were 19-31 in late May. Not sure what their run differential was but it wasn't until July that they were consistently over.500. I would argue it's not the exception to the rule in terms of winning the World Series in the last few years. We have seen teams that have played like crap in the first half of the season get hot at the right time and ride that through October. Will the White Sox do it? I don't know. But I do believe the talent is there. As bad as they have been so far this year, they are very much still in the AL Central race, especially considering the second half schedule
  13. Yeah, post covid he looks exhausted.
  14. It's seriously been a trend since he came back from Covid. LAst few games, he has been unable to go deep.
  15. He hasn't been the same since covid.
  16. Yoan's defense is indispensable at 3rd. He's a gold glove caliber third baseman. How bad is Burger's defense at 2nd?
  17. Sox have an amazing problem on their hands when Eloy gets back from his injury.
  18. I texted my Twins fan friend this but I think by the All Star break, the Sox will, if not be in first place, at least close. The offense is starting to put it together. Getting TA back is going to help a lot. And when we get Eloy back, that will be huge as well. And getting Lynn back will be a shot in the arm to the rotation, as well as the bullpen as he will have the ability to eat a lot innings. I like the way Mendick is playing right now. Having said that, I would love to see Hahn do what the Braves did last year and make targeted acquisitions that force some of these players to have to compete to be in the lineup each day.
