  1. I would think Robert and Eloy are dead to the baseball world outside Chicago right now. They are non factors cause they get hurt so much. Teams will not want either of those guys cause of injuries now and in the future.

Except for the piles of money they make it must suck being Robert and Eloy. All they do is get hurt then have to rehab. Man all that rehab time. Must be so boring. Day after day rehab. Then get the injury fixed and after a week have to start over in rehab again after getting reinjured.

For what it's worth again on the post game show Ozzie said he does not want to manage.

A conspirary theorist would say this proves Oz has learned to watch what he says. Lying is a sports figure's best friend. If he says he wants to manage it's bold headline stuff.

I don't think he wore out the team like Ditka. The lack of 2nd chances probably stems from the Castro remarks and his calling Jay Mariotti bad names. Motivated, I think Ozzie could get the most out of these guys. They don't have the sluggers, so maybe they could eke out an extra run or two a game and win a few.

I'm just saying there's nothing to lose anymore regarding hiring Ozzie. He can hold down the fort the rest of the season. I doubt he'd want much money? Double what he's making as TV analyst. Let Oz hire some kind of bench coach to share some of the media duties. We just need a body in the manager's chair right now to get us through the season. Ozzie would have no reason to be a distraction as he knows, everybody knows this team isn't capable of winning 60 max, more like 40-50 max games.

If they keep sucking like this, how long until the whole team turns on Grifol?

You know what? It's very very difficult to go 0-4 in a four-game series. To a team like the Royals it's unacceptable. He should be fired NOW (with the condition we do realize he had nothing to work with, but still. I'd like to see how often the Sox have been swept in four-game series in the last 30 years, but not counting the last four years when the team has given up. I would suggest once or twice in 30 year span?? That means FIRE HIM NOW. Let Ozzie manage these old stiffs! Seriously. Give Ozzie the team NOW. Why the hell not?

  5. How bout a greg appreciation day this fine Sunday? I rarely do I told you sos. But my offseason schtick has been one aspect of the game will always cost us the W. If we get a well pitched start, we can and will blow it with our horrific pen. If we lead in the ninth, we won't be able to close. And days we get good pitching and D all around we'll lose cause we can't hit that day.

Sox are not built for modern baseball. We can't win the game(s) within the game. Too weak in too many areas means 40-50 wins IMO.

They should leave it alone. Saves JR money and they can blame injuries as the reason they suck. Just because they get hurt almost every season , people should be shocked Eloy and Robert got hurt. They should be shocked in the upcoming days when Moncada swings and has an awkward finish and  is in pain. They should be more shocked when Crochet can’t pitch because of elbow or shoulder soreness.

Save this post. Yes Moncada figures to get hurt and our hearts will break if and when Crochet goes down.

I think my expectations for Crochet are getting too high. 5 IP, 5 Ks, 0 BB, 2 ER is a very good outing but his weakest so far. Across three starts, he's given up 4 runs in 18 innings which is pretty incredible (2 ERA). I think I'm most impressed that he's only walked one guy (to 21 K's).

    He deserves praise. He's good.

First one is what Jerry cares most about.

What is a campfire shake? Could it battle Italian Beef and Chicago dogs and pizza for a fave type food known only to Chicago? What are the ingredients. Would u prefer a shake or a beer?

We just don't feel the need to whine and complain about it like a petulant child ad nauseum every 10 minutes.

I beg to disagree. To be honest there's nothing positive to talk about here. Take a look at that lineup. Not one person is worth discussing in a positive manner except the delightful Crochet. That's it. Aside from shutting down the board, this team deserves only negativity right now, unless we start tracking our minor league studs with threads of their own.

As longstanding board members will attest, greg has been a Sox supporter forever. Trust me if there was something positive to say I'd say it. I'd love to read an essay tackling the issue of whether this team could win if it played AAA teams instead of MLB.

So why don’t your start a few positive topics on this message board and see what happens?

To be fair, I had a positive post the other day. I'm too lazy to look it up. Oh yeah I was wondering if Shoemake might be a surprise in a positive way.

  11. It was funny listening to the Royals postgame in my car. The fans were all excited about being 5-4. No mention, none, of how bad the White Sox are. You know, the Sox have turned the seasons of Central Division teams around a lot during the past many years of suck. Sox get KC well ... again.

That said ... it's interesting how this pathetic lineup is hitting about what we all expected. Typical Sox. No surprises. Everybody's hitting poorly just as we thought. I know I know. Robert and Eloy are out.

Literally just cut every player on the 26 man and start over. And take the entire FO with you.

I'd actually be OK with them removing the White Sox from the league for 2 seasons and make them an expansion team with new ownership. This organization has what, Montgomery, and Crochet and nothing else? Can't count Robert anymore. He's just another guy who can't be healthy.

What I would do (what I would do) is fire Grifol around the all star break if not sooner and name LaRussa interim manager.  I would then hire AJ to be asst manager or bench coach and let let him learn the league and a few things from LaRussa. Then after the season name AJ the manager and kick LaRussa back upstairs.  That's what I would do (what I would do).

Not a bad idea. AJP would be good and in your scenario he gets to learn how to manage half a season. Also we make Tony watch this bad ballclub in action. It's almost torture to submit anybody to watch this team play baseball. Tony would be in baseball hell making out the lineup card for this monumentally awful club.

This is a trash move. Trash. They have a bunch of hasbeens that are old with no upside and you drop a 22 year old who has at least flashed at times. Good grief.

It's like the Sox are trolling the fans daring them to buy tickets to come see wretched old guys play. It's a fireable offense (Getz) just putting together a team with the 7, 8, 9 hitters we have.

  15. How can this keep happening? One week into the season and Eloy and Robert are both hurt. Can you imagine being a player or coach on this team? How can you even pretend you have a chance to win when you take the field? p.s. Can you believe how bad a hitter Beni is?

Honestly the cubs aren't even a bad watch. Much better than this loser bunch.

My experiment of trying to follow the Cubs is working. Suzuki is a good hitter. That guy with the wild name homered today. Hell, might as well follow the Cubs as we have just one MLB team in town right now. Nobody can tell me this White Sox team is big-league caliber. Like I said the commissioner should fine the White Sox heavily for putting this product out there. It's almost impossible to create a team this flawed.

I genuinely love threads like this where the reaction from everyone is a variation of “who fucking cares”.

I don't care that's for sure. But Eloy does need a personal trainer or two. He has to take a different approach to playing sports, stretching, etc. Or just tell him to jog at all times.

  18. I was wrong on Burger and admitted it. I didn't want to draft him but he became a favorite. Very sad when they shipped him out for no good reason. He coulda been DH for 12 years. Not a fluid fielder.

As predicted, Getz put together the most boring team imaginable.  There’s really no reason to watch unless Crochet is pitching or Robert is batting.

Don't give up on Shewmake and Lee til their stats say it's time to bury 'em. Thank u. And is it possible Sheets can hit a bit? He's always been kind of easy to root for.

Tuned in for like 1 inning. Highlight for me was listening to Royals announcer s%*# talk Nicky Lopez after he struck out.

I heard Nicky was kinda difficult to be around as a Royal. No proof that's true or not, but if they were talking bleep on him, mabe they don't like him.
