Tre Jones is low key really good at basketball. That's one of very few wins for AKME. Leonard Miller looks like a solid future piece too. A bench of Jones, Miller, Sticks, and Williams is already in place for next year. I keep squinting and seeing a potentially really good team next year if the basketball gods are with us.

I didn't listen to the presser, but one of your quotes said they would be cast a large net, correct? So there would be a search right? While forcing Billy onto the new GM is backwards, I don't necessarily think it's wrong. Especially with Malone being gone Billy still has to be one of the top candidates out there if not THE top HC candidate available should he be made available.

Isn't Justin just a minority owner? Can't he sell his share and take full ownership of the Bulls??? Not gonna happen butttttt..... I really do think Billy has a great basketball mind. It'd seem very Riensdorfian to just promote the coach into a front office roll, but i think I'd support it.

Can Michael also sell the team to Ishbia??? Should be a very interesting offseason. 100m under the 1st apron, potentially 3 top 40 picks in a supposed DEEP draft.... Go blazers.

Will it be a long journey if that happens? If everything goes right it SHOULD be a quick turnaround. Imagine winning the lottery and drafting Dybansta, imagine getting 15 and drafting a guy like Stienbach, Quaintance, Mara, or Cenac to play center.... and then signing Peyton Watson, Benedict Mathurin, orrrrr Coby. If Dybansta is who everyone hopes, how good can something like Giddey-Watson-Dybansta-Matas-Mara be?

On a positive note, Portland is currently out of the lottery with 4 games to go. It won't happen but 2 top 15 picks in a good draft and a good chunk of cap space could make the GM job look pretty good to someone new.

With all the talk being about DE, and the seemingly good DT class in the draft, I haven't looked into any of the free agent DTs.... John Franklin-Meyers would be a really good "Under the radar" signing. I put that in quotes because he's not really a big name, but he's been pretty damn productive. I think right now, I'd like to see em sign JFM AND draft Kayden Mcdonald. JFM can really get after the QB and McDonald should be a really good NT. It sounds like a lot, but give me JFM, Cam Jordan(1yr), Byard, and Decker.....Depending on how much more cap gymnastics they wanna do, I'd love to add Anzalone as well. Hated that dude in Detroit, but he'd be a great replacement for Edmunds.

Yeah, he's not very good. I look forward to Ben getting our TEs matched up on him.

Am I alone in my start Austin Booker campaign? Guy was 72nd in pressures last year, BUT he only played 10 games. No one im the top 100 played less than 12....The only player above him that played in 12 games is Khalil Mack. Dude doesnt turn 24 until December. Does he need to improve against the run??? Absolutely. Maxx Crosby, who Booker had gotten comps to, was awful his first 2 years against the run and now he's elite. I'm not saying dont add a DE, but i dont necessarily think you need a clear cut starter over Booker. Maybe Cam Jordan comes relatively cheap and would be a good fit with the young Booker.

They did just draft a center last year, so theres that. That being said, pretty underwhelming. He was Joe Thuneys college roommate, so maybe that helps.

I think the fact that they moved Thuney to LT for that final game tells me they do see someeee importance in LT. I really think Decker makes all the sense in the world, and I wonder if he'd come cheaper than we think. Give me Decker and Linderbaum...Bring back Byard and Demarco Jackson... ideal world you get a DT, S, DE, and LB with your 4 picks in the first 3 rounds. Also, while im here, anyone else think Booker can be a good starting DE? Dude is still younger than some of the top DEs in the draft....id love if they signed Trey or traded for Maxx, but i might be one of the few who wouldn't be upset if they didnt.

Yeah with all the holes they have right now it'd be huge. If they decide to go big game hunting, they may have to rely on that comp pick being a guy somewhere.

I'd rather they extend/restructure him. Like others have said i think he plays his role perfectly in this offense. I wouldnt be surprised to see even more 13 personnel this year with Colston being used as a pseudo WR, and Cole getting more time as a reciever.

They better not win the next one. Portland is 2 wins away from being out of the lottery and the bulls finally getting that pick. Bulls currently have a 20% chance at getting a top 4 pick.

With the lottery now likely and dreams of a top 4 pick, this Duke vs UNC game should be a fun watch. Booker is the more fundamental player, but man Caleb Wilson is fun to watch! I think CW has more upside.

Yeah, the trades they made are pretty tough to sell even to the most optimistic of fans, butttt there's a path for a quick reboot. I just wish AK was more clear about that direction ifff tanking is indeed the direction.

Official NBA 25-26 Thread
The good news is they're only 2.5 games back from the Bucks for the 9th worst record in the league and a 23% chance of a top 4 pick. This is supposed to be a really good draft. Idk if that's the thought process here or not though....it has to be right? It'd be pretty ironic if we were all over here dreaming of them going big game hunting only to end up with Carlos Boozers kid.

Me and my 5 posts here has long been known as overly optimistic, but even I kinda struggle to see the vision here. (For the new posters, I've been on this board for probably close to 20 years) They've set themselves up to be real players in free agency buttttt, free agency next year is super mid....Unless they get lucky and overpay an RFA like Jalen Duren or I guess Walker Kessler. They're gonna need Matas to grow and show more consistency and Ivey to get back to the path he was on pre injury as well. Ayo-Simmons-Giddey-Matas-Duren/Kessler is ummm....interesting? That said, hopefully there's one last big trade left to make today.

I know some people gripe over PFF grades, but this had me absolutely shocked.... Loveland is their 5th highest graded TE and Burden is their 14th highest graded WR. I know they've looked incredible, but to have those grades back up what I've seen and know its not just my often rose colored glasses took me back a bit!

Giddey signed for 4/100. It sounds like a lot, but the AAV is like 23rd in the league among PGs. IF he plays like he did post all star break that looks like a damn good deal.
